Breeder & Exhibitor of Himalayan, Rex & Pet Guinea Pigs
Scotland

Hello my name is Kayleigh, I stay in Perth & Kinross , Central Scotland. I have owned guinea pigs for over 12 years and take alot of pride in the knowledge I have of guinea pigs, Always learning new things and happy to do so. I am a member of the SNCC (Scottish National Cavy Club), The NCC (National Cavy Club) & The NHCC  (National Himalayan Cavy Club). I breed my pigs to improve my lines, quality over quantity.

My very first guinea pig was a black and tan sow from pets smart back when I was around 10 years old. She was a lone pig and lived inside. She lived until the ripe old age of 8. Since Dino as she was known passed away i got several pigs all pets and all lived inside. When i was 15 I then went to college to study animal care and that is where I fell in love with the himalayan breed. The himalayans appearance and gorgeous red/pink eyes were just eyecatching. I love how they have clean white coats with dark smutts, ears and feet.

I have rescued a fair few pigs over the years. and although very rewarding i wanted to explore the other aspects of cavy care. Rescuing had its ups and downs but every pig rescued has since found a forever home or remained here with me. I am still in touch with some local rescues and aim to help out when ever possible whether it be with advice, adopting or helping find possible new homes.

I decided i wanted to explore the breeding/exhibiting world of cavies and got in contact with a few local breeders (Pam/John Gardner, Brian Lieper & Suzanne Wight) who happily showed me the ropes and helped me out at local shows. This is where i met and fell in love with the Rex breed. their size, coat and general laid back approach to life was lovely. I then decided that the himalayan and rex were the breeds for me.

My pets health, happiness and wellbeing are my top priority, They always have fresh food, water
and hay available. They also get a fresh variety of veggies for breakfast/dinner. When the Scottish weather permits they also get  to enjoy the fresh air, grass and sunshine in the garden. They also get groomed,  bathed
(when necessary) and get their nails clipped often. Most of my guinea  pigs have partners or live in groups so they never get lonely. I do have a few pigs who are just happy being alone but living next to others.

If you require any information about my guinea pigs housing or health, future litters or just have a general pet chat please contact me on the email address provided in the contact me page.
